This festival’s incredible inaugural year culminates in Dances of Diaspora, a vibrant showcase of cultural dance traditions from all around the world.

Bring your Flag Up Your Identity flag and show the city who you are while enjoying amazing choreography from every corner of the globe.

Dances of Diaspora features: Oka Anumpuli (Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma), Kuchipudi with Nandini Girish (India), Tenzin, Tsomo and Detchen Sangmo (Tibet), Ritmo Color y Sabor (Peru), Bhangra (Punjab), Ayahuasca (Colombia), Freedom Soul Dance with Penny Marie (West Africa/ Afrobeat fusion), Libre (Nicaragua), Mundi Dance (Cameroon), AFIDANCE feat. Rubba (Jamaica), Chinese Lion Dance, Tolo Ko Tolo – all-female drum and dance group (West Africa).

This event is also a celebration of Paul Stephenson’s birthday, Bristol’s legendary civil rights activist whose peaceful protests helped change Britain’s discrimination laws. Join Walks4Change before the ceremony to find out more about the pioneering ancestors who led the Bristol Bus Boycott.
