DESCRIPTION:Our monthly Artist Gatherings are designed to bring together members of our network to connect\, share their projects\, hear from guest artists\, and network.\n\n\nThis month’s session will be led by Lildonia Lawrence\, with a focus on self-care and wellbeing. \nWould you like some practical tips on how to stay grounded\, compassionate and connected in times of social and political upheaval? Then join us on Friday\, 31 October in the Community Workshop space at Arnolfini from 11am-1pm. \nThrough discussion\, reflection\, and mindful movement\, we’ll consider the embodied impact of rising fascism\, the emotional weight of social media\, and practical ways to protect our energy. Together\, we’ll nurture calm and love as powerful acts of collective resistance and care. \nLildonia Lawrence is a Wellbeing Coach and Equity & Diversity Trainer. Having worked in the field since 2010\, she specialises in BIPOC wellbeing\, anti-racism\, and equitable healthcare. DESCRIPTION:Are you a marginalised artist or creative living in the Wye Valley area? Join DAN and the Wye Valley River Festival team on Saturday\, 18 October\, 11am-3pm at the Tintern Village Hall\, NP16 6SZ\, for a pop-up Artists Gathering.\n \nYou don’t have to be a professional artist to attend\, or even an artist at all. It’s more about bringing people together from different cultural backgrounds so they can share their lived experience of living and working in Wales.\n \nThe day will include:\n\ngroup conversations\ncreative workshop elements\ninformation on how to get involved with the Wye Valley River Festival 2026\nsome opportunities to network\nsome time to walk in nature.  \n\nRefreshments and light snacks will be provided\, but feel free to bring a packed lunch. Please also bring suitable clothing for the walk.

DESCRIPTION:FORWARDS has a dedicated kids area\, featuring immersive shows and exciting workshops\, theatre\, ball pool\, skate ramp\, arts & crafts\, music\, plus much more – there is something for the whole family. \nIn the kids’ area\, the Diverse Artists Network — a development agency championing diversity\, cultural competency\, and representation in the arts — will present a vibrant programme of hands-on workshops celebrating creativity\, culture\, and community. From midday to early evening\, young participants can explore activities led by talented local and international artists: creative crafts with Ruth Ramsay & Karen Chard\, spoken word with Solomon OB\, magical storytelling with mermaid Carol Sherman\, the joyful rhythms of steelpan with Alphonse Daudet Touna\, energetic drumming with AFIDANCE\, and dances from across the African diaspora with Penny Marie. These sessions are designed to spark imagination\, build confidence\, and introduce children to a rich spectrum of artistic traditions\, reflecting the network’s mission to connect and empower diverse voices in the arts.
