DESCRIPTION:Four local poets read and discuss their work alongside contributors from the Africa Migration Report Poetry Anthology series. This series publishes anthologies exploring African and African diasporic migration and immobility through diverse poetic voices. Click here to register.  \nTo date\, the initiative has released two collections: Japa Fire: An Anthology of Poems on African and African Diasporic Migration (2024)\, edited by Ambrose Musiyiwa and Munya R\, and From Here To There (2025)\, edited by Nandi Jola and Omobola Osamor. With more editions in development\, the series continues to provide a vital platform for narratives of displacement\, heritage and movement. \nThe Africa Migration Report Poetry Anthology Series is a volunteer-led initiative organised by Forced Migration and The Arts. Joining details will be shared after you book. \n\nABOUT MARINA MORENO\nMarina Moreno is an interdisciplinary artist and performer focused on developing new strategies of social engagement. Her work\, which explores themes like migration\, displacement\, transnationalism and feminism\, has been shown internationally at venues including Tate Liverpool\, the South Bank Centre London and Palazzo Ducale Venice. She is an associate artist at MK Gallery and Public Engagement Co-ordinator at the Fondazione Marta Czok. \n@marinamorenoartist

DESCRIPTION:Tune into Ujima 98FM on Wednesday 29 April\, 2–4pm\, for a very special live takeover show hosted by DAN artist and Chair\, DJ Bashmal\, plus guests. \nSettle in from wherever you are\, at home\, in the office or on the road\, and find out everything you need to know about DIASPORA! This show will be unlike Ujima’s regular daytime broadcast: DJ Bashmal will be mixing a live set featuring music from across the world\, including Bhangra\, Baile Funk\, Shatta\, Dancehall\, Cumbia\, Salsa\, Reggae\, Afrobeats and Amapiano. \nJoin the DIASPORA! radio party\, live on Ujima 98FM\, the home of good music. \nLocated on the first floor of The Galleries (next to Boots)\, Ujima’s pop-up studio is part of Compass Presents’ A Love Letter to Broadmed project. \n\n\nABOUT DJ BASHMAL\nA champion for cultural competency and representation\, DJ Bashmal’s sets are a global journey. From his collaborations with legends like Mr Benn to his residency at Void\, Bashmal curates sounds of the Global Majority – Afrobeats\, Latin Fusion and beyond – designed for both the dancefloor and collective healing.
