SUMMARY:Family & Systemic Constellation Workshop- Chepstow\, Wales
DESCRIPTION:Explore family dynamics in a unique setting\, uncover hidden connections\, and gain insights at this interactive workshop. \n\n\n\n\nFamily & Systemic Constellations – Chepstow\nBi-monthly Saturday Morning Circle \nA bi-monthly Saturday morning constellation circle offering a grounded\, supportive space to explore family patterns\, relationships\, and inherited dynamics through embodied\, systemic work. \nThese circles are suitable both for people new to constellation work and those who wish to attend regularly. No previous experience is needed. \nDates\nSaturday 7 February 2026\nSaturday 18 April 2026\nSaturday 6 June 2026\nSaturday 10 October 2026\nSaturday 5 December 2026 \nThese circles run bi-monthly\, with a summer pause. \nTime\n10:00am–1:00pm \nLocation\nStone Rock Lodge\, Chepstow \nWhat are Family / Systemic Constellations?\nFamily or Systemic Constellations is an experiential therapeutic approach developed by Bert Hellinger\, drawing on family therapy\, systemic thinking\, and group dynamics. \nThe work explores how unresolved experiences and patterns within our family systems can continue to influence our relationships\, work\, health\, and sense of belonging\, often without our conscious awareness. These influences may show up as repeating dynamics\, emotional burdens\, or a sense of being stuck. \nRather than talking about problems\, constellation work allows us to see and feel the wider system we are part of. In a group setting\, participants may be invited to act as representatives for people\, roles\, or elements within a family or life situation. Through this embodied process\, hidden dynamics can become visible\, allowing new understanding\, movement\, and relief to emerge. \nThis is not roleplay\, and no belief or prior knowledge is required. \nHow the Morning Works\nEach morning includes: \n\nArrival\, settling\, and a short grounding or meditation\nSimple group exercises to practise representing and attuning to the field\nTwo constellations\nTime for reflection and integration\nClosing circle\n\nAt each session\, anyone attending is welcome to put their name forward if they would like to work with a personal or professional issue. \nConstellations are chosen on the day\, guided by what feels most appropriate for the group and the wider field. Not everyone who puts their name forward will necessarily have their own constellation. \nAll roles within the process are equally valued. \nWays to Take Part\nIssue holder\nYou may bring a theme or situation you would like to explore. Two constellations will take place each morning. \nRepresentative\nYou may be invited to stand in for people\, roles\, or elements within another person’s constellation. Many people find this role deeply insightful\, and sometimes more impactful than having their own constellation. \nWitness\nYou can also attend simply holding presence within the group. Even from this role\, people often recognise parallels and gain clarity for their own lives. \nYou do not need to bring an issue to attend. \nWhy Attend Regularly?\nConstellation work often unfolds over time. Attending regularly allows you to: \n\ndeepen your embodied understanding of systemic patterns\nintegrate insights gently between sessions\nexperience different roles within the field\nbuild continuity and trust within the group\n\nEach circle responds to who is present and what is alive on the day. \nAbout Katie\nKatie Despres is a Family and Systemic Constellations Facilitator and Senior Yoga Teacher based in Bristol. \nShe trained extensively with the Centre for Systemic Constellations\, including advanced study in Couples & Intimate Systems. Her background includes psychology\, a previous career in executive recruitment\, and over a decade of embodied practice through yoga and meditation. \nKatie’s approach is grounded\, relational\, and down-to-earth. She works with people who want depth without dogma\, and insight that can be applied in everyday life. \nThis Chepstow circle marks a personal return to the Wye Valley\, where Katie spent part of her childhood and where her connection to land\, family history\, and this work was first shaped. \nStaying After the Circle\nStone Rock Lodge offers an award-winning pizza restaurant\, bar\, and wood-fired sauna. \nParticipants are warmly invited to stay on after the circle for lunch or sauna time\, subject to availability. Details will be shared closer to each date. \nTickets & Pricing\n\n£25 early bird (limited number for each date)\n£40 standard\n£30 concession ( Limited for each date)\nStone Rock Lodge Member ( contact for discount code)\n\nThis is a mixed-role constellation circle. Some participants may work with a personal issue\, while others take part as representatives or witnesses. All roles are valued and can offer meaningful insight. \nIf cost is a barrier\, please get in touch. \nPractical Information\n\nNo previous experience needed\nWear comfortable clothes you can move in\nTea and light refreshments provided\n\nIf you can’t make one of these dates but would like to hear about future Chepstow circles\, please contact Katie to be added to the mailing list.

SUMMARY:The Map Has No Borders
DESCRIPTION:Within each of us lives a map. A breathing record of where we’ve been\, where we come from\, and where those before us have walked. Held in the body\, woven into memory\, carried in our ancestors’ stories\, it quietly guides us: stay here. move on. come home. \nFor those of us from diaspora communities\, with colonised heritage\, or whose families have known forced migration\, these maps can be especially layered. The question of where we belong rarely has a simple answer. Home can mean several places at once\, or none quite completely. And the stories that shape us are often ones we’ve inherited rather than lived\, carried across borders and down through generations. \nThis workshop is an invitation to bring those maps into the world and explore what they hold\, together. \nWe’ll work through storytelling\, making\, drawing and conversation\, uncovering the maps we navigate by: maps of belonging to many worlds\, maps that can lead us home. \nQuestions we’ll sit with: \n\nHow far do our maps reach?\nWhat threads connect the different parts?\nWhat stories of longing and loss\, of dreams and desires\, have been carried along the way?\n\nWhat you’ll take away \nYou’ll leave with a piece of creative work you’ve made yourself over the course of the morning. Many participants also find that the process of naming these journeys\, and hearing others name theirs\, brings something unexpected: a new clarity about their own story\, and a sense of being understood. \nWe gather in a space of genuine welcome\, with room for up to 12 people. \nNo prior experience needed. \n\nInez Aponte is a storyteller and facilitator of Puerto Rican and Surinamese descent\, with over 25 years of experience working at the intersection of performance\, identity and community. Her one-woman show Un|Earthed — a magical realist exploration of heritage\, belonging and colonial history — has been performed across the UK and Europe. \nIf you’d like to experience the show that inspired this workshop\, Inez will be performing Un|Earthed in Bristol on Wed 25 March and in Bath on Thurs 26 March. SUMMARY:Communities for Justice
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us at ECC for a series of workshops\, talks and interactive\, immersive experiences for community empowerment & voices on policing \n\n\n\n\n\nWe’re once again back at the awesome ECC in Easton\, Bristol\, this time in two rooms- the main hall and the Stapleton room\, from 12.30 pm to 18.25 pm for the launch of Communities For Justice\, the largest community event we’ve ever held! We extended our event time to fit in an additional section of the day for youth and families. \nWe’re partnering on the event with Black South West Network as well as The Bristol Cable and we’re honoured to have our event opened by Bristol City Poet Sukina Noor sharing her powerful spoken word with the community as an introduction and welcome from all of us. \nLunch is from 13:45 to 14:15. We will also have an afternoon break from 15:15 to 15:25. \n\n\n\n\nCommunities for Justice is a space to learn together\, connect struggles\, and build the tools we need to understand the realities of policing now and what’s coming next\, and how to challenge them. \nFor years\, communities in Bristol have been watching the police: documenting stop and search\, challenging controversial stop and search tactics like Section 60\, practicing bystander intervention\, and learning our rights when policing enters our lives. \nCommunity police monitoring has always been about protection\, accountability and survival — and in 2026\, it still matters. \nBut the face of policing is changing. \nPower no longer only shows up on the street. It now sits in databases\, algorithms and risk scores. Decisions are increasingly shaped by data systems operating out of sight\, without consent and with little scrutiny. \nIn Bristol\, a national testing ground for mass data gathering by the police and other services— tens of thousands of people have been quietly profiled in the name of safeguarding. \nBut\, we’re here to say: surveillance isn’t safeguarding. \nAcross the day\, we’ll start with what we know: why we continue to say no to stop and search\, Section 60 and “precision” policing powers\, and how to protect each other through copwatching and knowing your rights. Then we’ll look ahead – unpacking how police technologies and AI systems work\, exposing bias and discrimination\, and sharing ways to resist systems that criminalise communities while claiming to care. \n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Intro to Systemic (Family) Constellations: Online Experiential Workshop with Katie Despres
DESCRIPTION:What We Inherit\, What We Carry\nAn Experiential Introduction to Systemic Constellations \nSystemic Constellations\, which includes family constellations\, is an experiential approach to understanding human experience through the lens of systems. A system might be a family\, but it can also be a relationship\, a workplace\, a community\, a culture\, or a collective history. Systemic work looks at the whole rather than the individual alone\, and explores how patterns arise when something or someone has been excluded\, forgotten\, or is out of place. \nAt the heart of this work is a simple question: what is needed for a system to come back into balance? Often this involves seeing what has been missing\, acknowledging what has been left out\, or recognising how love and loyalty can bind us to experiences that are not originally ours. \nYou may have heard of intergenerational or ancestral trauma\, and perhaps the growing research around epigenetics\, the idea that experiences can be carried across generations. Systemic constellation work explores these themes experientially\, including not only trauma\, but also the strengths\, resources\, and gifts that are inherited through our systems. \nRather than talking about these ideas\, this session invites you to experience them. \nThrough embodied representation and shared exploration\, participants step into a relational field where information can emerge in unexpected ways. People often find themselves sensing or knowing things without consciously knowing how\, through the body\, through relationship\, and through what is often called the collective or knowing field. This work is phenomenological in nature\, meeting experience as it arises\, without interpretation or analysis. \nIn this live online workshop\, you will be guided through experiential exercises\, reflective breakout spaces\, and a facilitated demonstration. You may be invited to represent elements such as a person\, a quality\, or an aspect of a system\, noticing what it is like to stand in someone else’s place\, or in the space between. \nSome people arrive with a recurring pattern or question in mind. Others come simply curious. Participation is always optional; you are welcome to take part\, witness\, or observe. \nThis session often resonates with those interested in psychedelic experience and integration\, as it offers another way of exploring non-ordinary states of perception\, insight\, and interconnectedness\, without substances. \nWhat to expect\n\nEmbodied\, experiential exercises you can do from home\nOptional opportunities to represent and be represented\nSmall breakout groups for reflection and integration\nWitnessing a live constellation-style process\nSpace for questions and shared inquiry\n\nNo previous experience is needed. \nThis is a confidential space and WON’T be recorded.

Reserve your spot now! \n\n\n\n\nAn Introduction to Systemic Constellations: A One-Day Experiential Workshop \nDates:\nSaturday 27th September | Friday 28th November \nA new way of understanding what shapes your life\nSome challenges are difficult to think your way out of. Patterns repeat. Emotions linger. Decisions feel fogged. Despite your insight\, something deeper seems to be at play. \nSystemic Constellations offer a different kind of perspective. One that looks not only at your individual experience\, but also at the wider systems you’re part of: family\, work\, culture\, inheritance. This is a way of listening to what hasn’t yet been seen or acknowledged\, through a mix of experiential exercises\, embodiment\, and intuitive insight. \nThese one-day workshops are designed to offer a practical\, grounded introduction to systemic work\, with time to explore\, reflect and experience the method firsthand. \nWho this is for\nThese workshops are for everyone who is curious about what lies beneath the surface of complex issues\, in life\, relationships\, or work. You might be: \n\nNoticing repeating patterns and wondering if they began somewhere earlier\nHolding roles or responsibilities that feel heavy\, unclear or misaligned\nWanting to explore new ways of looking at entangled systems\, personal\, professional\, cultural\nA therapist\, coach\, facilitator or manager looking to broaden your understanding of relational dynamics\nHave heard of constellations work but are slightly terrified of coming. This is a softer introduction\nYou are a professional who wants to see how this work adds understanding to dynamics in the work place.\n\nNo previous experience is needed. Whether you come with a personal question\, or simply want to witness and take part\, you’ll be supported throughout. \nWhat you’ll experience\n\nAn introduction to the theory and practice of systemic constellations\nCore principles including the Orders of Love\, systemic perception\, and embodied knowing\nGroup exercises to map hidden patterns and dynamics\nLive constellations facilitated by Katie and Jamie\nA reflective space to make sense of what emerges\n\nThese workshops are practical\, embodied and participatory. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of how systemic dynamics show up in your own life and work\, and how to begin responding to them with more clarity and compassion. \nFacilitators \nKatie Despres is a Systemic Constellations Facilitator with a rich professional background spanning executive recruitment\, entrepreneurship\, and personal development. After studying Psychology\, she began her career in London working for entrepreneur James Caan\, CBE\, before founding her own international recruitment firm and property business in Bristol. Alongside this\, she trained as a Transpersonal Coach\, and later as a Senior Yoga Teacher. \nKatie now brings over a decade of experience in systemic and embodied approaches to change. Her facilitation is rooted in both corporate pragmatism and deep intuitive presence\, creating safe and grounded spaces for transformation. She trained with the Centre for Systemic Constellations (CSC) under Gaye Donaldson and Chris Williams and now offers 1:1 and Couples sessions and monthly Constellation workshops in Bristol. \nAs someone who has navigated the demands of business\, parenting\, and personal growth\, Katie is particularly passionate about making systemic work accessible to professionals seeking fresh insight into the deeper roots of complex patterns in their lives\, work\, or relationships. \nYou can find out more about Katie at www.katiedespres.com \nJamie Colston is a facilitator\, trainer & artist who has been immersed in systemic constellations since 2010. He has completed extensive training\, including COLPI in 2012 with Judith Hemming (a year-long organisational constellations training) and both Foundation and Applied levels of Family Constellation training with the Centre of Systemic Constellations. \nHe teaches an introduction to constellations to first-year counselling and psychotherapy students at Weston College and has been running Systemic Constellations workshops for a couple of years. Jamie’s broader work explores ancestral storytelling through the *Motherlode* project\, a book of collective wisdom drawn from 100 conversations around the world. Alongside this\, he is a parent to two amazing teenagers\, a community gatherer\, and a guide in ritual and rites of passage work. \nYou can find out more about Jamie at www.jamiecolston.com \nInvestment: \nWe will run 3 x 1 day workshops: \nFriday 13th June | Saturday 27th September | Friday 28th November \n“The specific weight of the soul is equal to the sum of what has been dared.”— Bert Hellinger \nJoin Us: Come with curiosity and an open heart. Leave with new perspectives\, embodied experience\, and a deeper understanding of the interconnected forces shaping your life. \nI attended Katie & Jamie’s  Introduction to Family Constellations in June 2025\, and it was a powerful and grounding experience. Constellation work invites you to see patterns and beliefs from a third perspective\, outside of your own internal narrative\, which can be incredibly liberating. It helps you gently de-personalise from your ‘stuff’ and opens up new ways of seeing and being with it. \nWhat stood out most for me was how embodied the experience was. In a world that often keeps us stuck in our analytical\, overthinking minds\, this work offers a vital shift\,  back into the body\, back into presence. Representing other people’s issues in the constellation process gave me a visceral sense of how powerful embodiment can be. \nAs a coach who already uses embodied practices with clients\, this experience was a reminder of just how transformative being in the body truly is.  Highly recommend to coaches wanting to experience the power of embodiment. Sadia GhazanfarWomen’s Leadership & Career Development Coach www.slay-your-dragons.com \n\nOur Members get access to discounted prices to this event. \nAccessibility Information: \n\nUnfortunately this venue isn’t fully accessible due to two steps leading up to the hall.

SUMMARY:Black Industrial/ Noise: Trevor Mathison\, Nkisi\, Gary Stewart
DESCRIPTION:A radical ‘essay-concert’ reclaiming a post-colonial lineage of techno and noise\, within a loosely defined concept of ‘Black Industrialism’. \nBlack Industrial/Noise is an ongoing research project visiting Arnolfini to present a live performance by Nkisi\, and Trevor Mathison (Black Audio Film Collective) and Gary Stewart (Dubmorphology)\, following their recent epic four-hour headline set at Ormside Projects’ South Bermondsey Festival in London. This event at Arnolfini announces the beginning of a tour of the former British Industrial heartlands by the Black Industrial Research Group. \nMathison has been described by The Wire magazine as ‘the unheralded pioneer of Black British sound\,’ and is known best as composer\, sound designer and founder member of the Black Audio Film Collective. Along with Stewart as Dubmorphology\, he created the sound installation forming a major part of John Akomfrah’s British Pavilion at the recent Venice Biennale. \nThe event will also be an opportunity to secure the first copies of the Black Industrial Research Group’s first white label – released in an edition of just 100 to mark this event\, with sibling happenings in London and Bristol – composed by Trevor Mathison and Gary Stewart\, featuring the words of John Akomfrah. \nAbout the artists \nBlack Industrial/Noise is a project by the Black Industrial Research Group. \nTrevor Mathison and Gary Stewart have been in search of a black avantgarde since the 1980s. As the duo Dubmorphology they make experimental audio-visual installations and performances that examine the relationship between culture\, history and creativity\, reworking historical\, political and scientific archives. \nNkisi is a producer\, live musician\, DJ and curator born in Congo\, raised in Belgium. Her intense sonics are influenced by ancient Kongo rhythms\, noise\, the planetary electromagnetic grid\, and experimental improvisation. \npurge.xxx is a record label that has been hailed by The Wire magazine for its ‘disregard for the music industry.’ In 2025\, it will publish work by the Black Industrial Research Group\, trabant\, Jean Pierre-Bedoyan (for William E. Jones) and Adam Christensen. In 2026\, it will – under the banner of BIRG – issue original work by Dubmorphology\, Klein\, Nkisi and Kodwo Eshun. purge.xxx is generously supported by PRS Foundation’s Beyond Borders.

SUMMARY:Family Constellations Monthly Circles-Bristol
DESCRIPTION:Monthly Constellation in Bristol (Tues evenings): uncover hidden dynamics\, open new perspectives\, and restore flow in life and relationships \n\nAbout this event\n\nHealth • Personal health\n\n\n\n\n\n📅 Autumn 2025 Dates\n🕕 6:00 – 9:15pm at Subud Hall\, Clifton\, Bristol \n\n28 Oct 2025 ( pls note that on this date only the session starts at 6.30pm)\n25 Nov 2025\n16 Dec 2025\n\nYou’re welcome to join a single circle\, or come regularly and build a deeper connection with the work. \nWhat is Family Constellations?\nFamily & Systemic Constellations were developed by Bert Hellinger. They offer a way of looking beneath the surface of our difficulties — revealing hidden family and ancestral patterns that quietly influence our present-day lives. \nRather than analysing or telling stories\, constellations open up a space of direct experience. Someone brings an issue or question\, other people step in to represent members of their family system\, and together we begin to see what has been hidden. Often\, what emerges is a fresh perspective\, more space inside\, and the possibility of moving with greater ease and flow. \nIf you’re new\, you might like to watch Netflix’s Another Self \nWhat happens at a Circle? \n\nArrival and settling together\nA short exercise to build safety and connection\nTwo constellations each evening:\nOne Issue-Holder place is guaranteed (book in advance)\nOne is chosen by the field (names drawn on the night)\nClosing circle\n\nYou don’t need to bring an issue to take part. As a Representative\, you may step into the place of a family member\, ancestor\, or an archetype such as Love\, Fear\, or Freedom. Many people say their most powerful experiences come through representing rather than being the issue-holder. \nWhy come every month?\nConstellations are not a one-off. Like therapy or yoga\, the benefits build over time. \nJoining regularly as a Representative allows you to: \n\nLearn through many different stories\nFeel the work directly in your body\nNotice your own life gradually shifting in response\nBuild connection with a supportive group\n\nYou are welcome to join just once\, or return each month — there is no right or wrong way. \n🎟 Tickets\n\nIssue-Holder – £65 (only 3 guaranteed issue-holder places left this year)\nRepresentative / Witness – £35\nConcession Rep/Witness – £25 (limited\, on request)\n3-Month Rep/Witness Bundle (Oct–Dec) – £90 (save £15)\n\nPractical bits\nNo experience needed. Wear comfy clothes; water/tea and light snacks provided.\nWe keep a held\, confidential space.\nAccessibility or affordability questions? Please reach out. \nAbout Katie\nHello\, I’m Katie. I trained to advanced level with the Centre for Systemic Constellations (CSC)\, including Couples & Intimate Systems. \nBefore this work\, I spent years in the corporate world as a headhunter in London. I later trained as a coach and yoga teacher\, and for over a decade I’ve been teaching yoga in Bristol. \nI also come from a large\, blended family. I’m both a mother and a step-mother\, and have lived through the complexities of inter-racial marriage\, divorce\, and all the challenges and gifts that family systems bring. These experiences\, alongside my professional training\, mean I meet people with empathy and real-life understanding. \nPeople often describe me as direct\, warm\, and practical. My circles are not about performance or theory — they’re a space where we can sit together honestly\, and allow what wants to be seen to emerge. \n📺 Curious? Try Netflix’s Another Self or Goop’s constellation episode on YouTube. \nOther Upcoming Events\n\nSaturday 18 Oct 2025 – Full-day Constellation Workshop with Melissa (constellations & sound journey)\nFri 28 Nov 2025 – Introduction to Systemic Constellations Training Day with Jamie Colston\n\nFor full details see: www.katiedespres.com \n✨ Join us this autumn in Bristol to uncover hidden dynamics\, gain fresh perspective\, and restore flow in your life and relationships. \nOur Members get access to discounted prices to this event. \nAccessibility Information: \n\nUnfortunately this venue isn’t fully accessible due to two steps leading up to the hall.
