This is a way of listening to what hasn’t yet been seen or acknowledged\, through a mix of experiential exercises\, embodiment\, and intuitive insight. \nThese one-day workshops are designed to offer a practical\, grounded introduction to systemic work\, with time to explore\, reflect and experience the method firsthand. \nWho this is for\nThese workshops are for everyone who is curious about what lies beneath the surface of complex issues\, in life\, relationships\, or work. You might be: \n\nNoticing repeating patterns and wondering if they began somewhere earlier\nHolding roles or responsibilities that feel heavy\, unclear or misaligned\nWanting to explore new ways of looking at entangled systems\, personal\, professional\, cultural\nA therapist\, coach\, facilitator or manager looking to broaden your understanding of relational dynamics\nHave heard of constellations work but are slightly terrified of coming. This is a softer introduction\nYou are a professional who wants to see how this work adds understanding to dynamics in the work place.\n\nNo previous experience is needed. Whether you come with a personal question\, or simply want to witness and take part\, you’ll be supported throughout. \nWhat you’ll experience\n\nAn introduction to the theory and practice of systemic constellations\nCore principles including the Orders of Love\, systemic perception\, and embodied knowing\nGroup exercises to map hidden patterns and dynamics\nLive constellations facilitated by Katie and Jamie\nA reflective space to make sense of what emerges\n\nThese workshops are practical\, embodied and participatory. You’ll leave with a clearer sense of how systemic dynamics show up in your own life and work\, and how to begin responding to them with more clarity and compassion. \nFacilitators \nKatie Despres is a Systemic Constellations Facilitator with a rich professional background spanning executive recruitment\, entrepreneurship\, and personal development. After studying Psychology\, she began her career in London working for entrepreneur James Caan\, CBE\, before founding her own international recruitment firm and property business in Bristol. Alongside this\, she trained as a Transpersonal Coach\, and later as a Senior Yoga Teacher. \nKatie now brings over a decade of experience in systemic and embodied approaches to change. Her facilitation is rooted in both corporate pragmatism and deep intuitive presence\, creating safe and grounded spaces for transformation. She trained with the Centre for Systemic Constellations (CSC) under Gaye Donaldson and Chris Williams and now offers 1:1 and Couples sessions and monthly Constellation workshops in Bristol. \nAs someone who has navigated the demands of business\, parenting\, and personal growth\, Katie is particularly passionate about making systemic work accessible to professionals seeking fresh insight into the deeper roots of complex patterns in their lives\, work\, or relationships. \nYou can find out more about Katie at www.katiedespres.com \nJamie Colston is a facilitator\, trainer & artist who has been immersed in systemic constellations since 2010. He has completed extensive training\, including COLPI in 2012 with Judith Hemming (a year-long organisational constellations training) and both Foundation and Applied levels of Family Constellation training with the Centre of Systemic Constellations. \nHe teaches an introduction to constellations to first-year counselling and psychotherapy students at Weston College and has been running Systemic Constellations workshops for a couple of years. Jamie’s broader work explores ancestral storytelling through the *Motherlode* project\, a book of collective wisdom drawn from 100 conversations around the world. Alongside this\, he is a parent to two amazing teenagers\, a community gatherer\, and a guide in ritual and rites of passage work. \nYou can find out more about Jamie at www.jamiecolston.com \nInvestment: \nWe will run 3 x 1 day workshops: \nFriday 13th June | Saturday 27th September | Friday 28th November \n“The specific weight of the soul is equal to the sum of what has been dared.”— Bert Hellinger \nJoin Us: Come with curiosity and an open heart. Leave with new perspectives\, embodied experience\, and a deeper understanding of the interconnected forces shaping your life. \nI attended Katie & Jamie’s  Introduction to Family Constellations in June 2025\, and it was a powerful and grounding experience. Constellation work invites you to see patterns and beliefs from a third perspective\, outside of your own internal narrative\, which can be incredibly liberating. It helps you gently de-personalise from your ‘stuff’ and opens up new ways of seeing and being with it. \nWhat stood out most for me was how embodied the experience was. In a world that often keeps us stuck in our analytical\, overthinking minds\, this work offers a vital shift\,  back into the body\, back into presence. Representing other people’s issues in the constellation process gave me a visceral sense of how powerful embodiment can be. \nAs a coach who already uses embodied practices with clients\, this experience was a reminder of just how transformative being in the body truly is.  Highly recommend to coaches wanting to experience the power of embodiment. SUMMARY:Black Industrial/ Noise: Trevor Mathison\, Nkisi\, Gary Stewart
DESCRIPTION:A radical ‘essay-concert’ reclaiming a post-colonial lineage of techno and noise\, within a loosely defined concept of ‘Black Industrialism’. \nBlack Industrial/Noise is an ongoing research project visiting Arnolfini to present a live performance by Nkisi\, and Trevor Mathison (Black Audio Film Collective) and Gary Stewart (Dubmorphology)\, following their recent epic four-hour headline set at Ormside Projects’ South Bermondsey Festival in London. This event at Arnolfini announces the beginning of a tour of the former British Industrial heartlands by the Black Industrial Research Group. \nMathison has been described by The Wire magazine as ‘the unheralded pioneer of Black British sound\,’ and is known best as composer\, sound designer and founder member of the Black Audio Film Collective. Along with Stewart as Dubmorphology\, he created the sound installation forming a major part of John Akomfrah’s British Pavilion at the recent Venice Biennale. \nThe event will also be an opportunity to secure the first copies of the Black Industrial Research Group’s first white label – released in an edition of just 100 to mark this event\, with sibling happenings in London and Bristol – composed by Trevor Mathison and Gary Stewart\, featuring the words of John Akomfrah. \nAbout the artists \nBlack Industrial/Noise is a project by the Black Industrial Research Group. \nTrevor Mathison and Gary Stewart have been in search of a black avantgarde since the 1980s. As the duo Dubmorphology they make experimental audio-visual installations and performances that examine the relationship between culture\, history and creativity\, reworking historical\, political and scientific archives. \nNkisi is a producer\, live musician\, DJ and curator born in Congo\, raised in Belgium. Her intense sonics are influenced by ancient Kongo rhythms\, noise\, the planetary electromagnetic grid\, and experimental improvisation. \npurge.xxx is a record label that has been hailed by The Wire magazine for its ‘disregard for the music industry.’ In 2025\, it will publish work by the Black Industrial Research Group\, trabant\, Jean Pierre-Bedoyan (for William E. Jones) and Adam Christensen. In 2026\, it will – under the banner of BIRG – issue original work by Dubmorphology\, Klein\, Nkisi and Kodwo Eshun. purge.xxx is generously supported by PRS Foundation’s Beyond Borders.

SUMMARY:Family Constellations Monthly Circles-Bristol
DESCRIPTION:Monthly Constellation in Bristol (Tues evenings): uncover hidden dynamics\, open new perspectives\, and restore flow in life and relationships \n\nAbout this event\n\nHealth • Personal health\n\n\n\n\n\n📅 Autumn 2025 Dates\n🕕 6:00 – 9:15pm at Subud Hall\, Clifton\, Bristol \n\n28 Oct 2025 ( pls note that on this date only the session starts at 6.30pm)\n25 Nov 2025\n16 Dec 2025\n\nYou’re welcome to join a single circle\, or come regularly and build a deeper connection with the work. \nWhat is Family Constellations?\nFamily & Systemic Constellations were developed by Bert Hellinger. They offer a way of looking beneath the surface of our difficulties — revealing hidden family and ancestral patterns that quietly influence our present-day lives. \nRather than analysing or telling stories\, constellations open up a space of direct experience. Someone brings an issue or question\, other people step in to represent members of their family system\, and together we begin to see what has been hidden. Often\, what emerges is a fresh perspective\, more space inside\, and the possibility of moving with greater ease and flow. \nIf you’re new\, you might like to watch Netflix’s Another Self \nWhat happens at a Circle? \n\nArrival and settling together\nA short exercise to build safety and connection\nTwo constellations each evening:\nOne Issue-Holder place is guaranteed (book in advance)\nOne is chosen by the field (names drawn on the night)\nClosing circle\n\nYou don’t need to bring an issue to take part. As a Representative\, you may step into the place of a family member\, ancestor\, or an archetype such as Love\, Fear\, or Freedom. Many people say their most powerful experiences come through representing rather than being the issue-holder. \nWhy come every month?\nConstellations are not a one-off. Like therapy or yoga\, the benefits build over time. \nJoining regularly as a Representative allows you to: \n\nLearn through many different stories\nFeel the work directly in your body\nNotice your own life gradually shifting in response\nBuild connection with a supportive group\n\nYou are welcome to join just once\, or return each month — there is no right or wrong way. \n🎟 Tickets\n\nIssue-Holder – £65 (only 3 guaranteed issue-holder places left this year)\nRepresentative / Witness – £35\nConcession Rep/Witness – £25 (limited\, on request)\n3-Month Rep/Witness Bundle (Oct–Dec) – £90 (save £15)\n\nPractical bits\nNo experience needed. Wear comfy clothes; water/tea and light snacks provided.\nWe keep a held\, confidential space.\nAccessibility or affordability questions? Please reach out. \nAbout Katie\nHello\, I’m Katie. I trained to advanced level with the Centre for Systemic Constellations (CSC)\, including Couples & Intimate Systems. \nBefore this work\, I spent years in the corporate world as a headhunter in London. I later trained as a coach and yoga teacher\, and for over a decade I’ve been teaching yoga in Bristol. \nI also come from a large\, blended family. I’m both a mother and a step-mother\, and have lived through the complexities of inter-racial marriage\, divorce\, and all the challenges and gifts that family systems bring. These experiences\, alongside my professional training\, mean I meet people with empathy and real-life understanding. \nPeople often describe me as direct\, warm\, and practical. My circles are not about performance or theory — they’re a space where we can sit together honestly\, and allow what wants to be seen to emerge. \n📺 Curious? SUMMARY:Family Constellations & Sound Healing — with Katie Despres & Driftaway
DESCRIPTION:Explore Family Constellations & sound healing in a full-day workshop. Gain insight\, release patterns & support your body to integrate. \n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFamily Constellations & Sound Healing — with Katie Despres & Guest Practitioner Melissa (Driftway Wellness) \nJoin a full-day workshop combining Family Constellations with sound healing integration. A chance to explore how family patterns live in the body and nervous system\, and how sound and systemic practice together can support release\, regulation\, and fresh perspective. \nWhat is Family Constellations?\nFamily or Systemic Constellations is a therapeutic approach developed by Bert Hellinger. It works on the principle that unresolved experiences in our family history don’t disappear — they can be carried forward into future generations as unconscious loyalties\, symptoms\, or repeating patterns. \nAs Dr Bruce Hoffman writes\, “The body is the final resting place of all your experiences. But not just your own. The body also carries the untold stories of those who came before.” This is at the heart of constellation work: to uncover what belongs to us\, and gently release what does not. \nA constellation creates a living map of these hidden dynamics\, using group members as representatives. Through this embodied process\, what is usually unseen becomes visible and felt. \nFamily Constellations can support you to: \n\nUnravel family and relationship challenges\nIdentify repetitive patterns in work or creativity\nManage stress\, anxiety\, and health concerns\nAddress financial limitations or blocks\nGain clarity on life direction and purpose\nRelease inherited emotional burdens\n\nWays to Take Part\nThere are different ways to participate in a constellation: \n\nIssue Holder – bring a personal or professional issue to explore. The group will support you in mapping your system.\nRepresentative – step into roles within other people’s constellations. This isn’t roleplay\, but a somatic process: many people experience powerful shifts and insights while representing.\nWitness – hold presence in the circle. Even from this position\, you may find parallels and resonance with your own life.\n\nNot every participant is guaranteed to have their own constellation. Typically we are able to explore four issues in a full-day workshop. At the start of the day\, we will explain how issue holders will be selected. What’s important to know is that every role is valuable\, and many people describe their most moving experiences happening while representing. \nWhy Sound Healing?\nWe will be joined by Melissa from Driftway Wellness\, who will guide a sound healing session in the afternoon. Sound healing uses vibration and resonance to work directly with the body and nervous system — helping to settle\, release\, and integrate. Just as constellation work reveals what is carried in our family system and embodied in our lives\, sound offers a complementary way to ground those shifts. \nThe tones and frequencies can soothe the stress response\, support emotional regulation\, and allow the constellation process to land more deeply. This combination of constellations and sound creates space for insight to move from awareness into the body\, so that integration is not just mental\, but felt. \nOutline of the Day (approximate\, timings flexible)\n\n10:00 – 13:00: Arrival\, introductions\, settling\, 2 constellations\n13:00 – 14:00: Lunch (bring your own or explore nearby)\n14:00 – 16:00: 2 constellations\nAround 16:00: Sound bath with Melissa\nClosing circle: Around 17:00- 17.30\n\n(We’ll remain flexible with timing to allow the process to breathe; this will be explained in the opening circle.) \nTickets\nFor this workshop there are two different ways to bring an issue: \n\nIssue Holder (Guaranteed) – For those who have something showing up in their lives that you knowyou want to explore. Buying this ticket gives reassurance that your constellation will take place. There are only 2 guaranteed issue holder spaces available.\nRepresentative – You take part as a rep and witness. During the day\, there will also be 2 constellations chosen from the field. If you’d like the chance to be selected\, you can put your name into the bowl. If chosen\, you may either take the place yourself or offer it to another participant.\n\nThis way\, everyone has a chance to experience the work\, whether through bringing an issue\, representing\, or witnessing. \nAbout Katie\nKatie Despres is a Systemic Constellations Facilitator and Yoga Teacher based in Bristol. She is known for her down-to-earth yet intuitive approach\, blending systemic thinking\, embodiment\, and grounded presence. \nKatie trained extensively with the Centre for Systemic Constellations under Gaye Donaldson and Chris Williams\, including advanced study in Couples and Intimate Systems. She has over a decade of experience in transformational work\, alongside 1\,500+ hours of yoga training with Yogasara Bristol under Yoga Elders Christopher Gladwell and Sarah Harlow. \nHer work is shaped by a deep interest in human relationships — how unresolved experiences are carried through families\, and how we can gently return what does not belong. She facilitates workshops\, 1:1 sessions\, and couples work in Bristol and online. \nAbout Melissa\nMelissa (Driftway Wellness) is a sound practitioner\, Reiki Master\, massage therapist\, and mindfulness teacher. She has been supporting people’s wellbeing for over a decade\, offering spaces for rest\, release\, and reconnection. A regular participant in constellation workshops\, Melissa brings an attuned systemic understanding to her sound healing work. \nWho Can Attend \nWhether this is your first constellation or you’ve experienced the work before\, you are very welcome. This is an experiential workshop — everyone present participates in some way\, and each role contributes to the learning and healing field. The workshop is for Adults only \nPractical Information\nVenue\nSubud Hall\, 29 Wesley Place\, Bristol BS8 (near Clifton Downs / Whiteladies Road). \nTravel \n\nTrain: Clifton Down Station is a 10-minute walk from the venue.\nBus: Several buses stop at Blackboy Hill / Whiteladies Road (routes 1\, 2\, 3\, 4).\nParking: Free on-street parking in residents’ bays on Saturdays (check local signs).\n\nFood & Drink \n\nLight refreshments (tea\, coffee\, biscuits\, fruit) are included during breaks.\nLunch 1–2 pm: please bring your own ( Microwave & fridge in kitchen)\, or choose from plenty of cafés and food options within a 5-minute walk.

SUMMARY:An evening Family / Systemic Constellation Workshop with Katie Despres
DESCRIPTION:Do you find yourself stuck in repeated patterns or feeling unable to thrive in life areas such as relationships\, work\, money\, health? \nFamily & Systemic Constellations Evening Workshop\n“It’s a fascinating process and Katie held the space with warmth\, clarity\, intuition and care. … One notable thing to me was how the issue holders looked quite transformed – lighter\, happier\, ten years younger – as a result of working through the process.”— Emma Burleigh \nFamily Constellations is a profound and revealing process that helps uncover unconscious patterns and inherited influences that shape our experiences. Grounded in systemic therapy and ancestral healing\, this approach provides insight into how our personal challenges are often tied to our wider family system and past generations. \nDo you ever feel stuck\, lacking motivation\, or noticing repeating themes in your relationships\, career\, health\, or creativity? Have you wondered how certain patterns keep showing up in your life or what might be holding you back? \nThis embodied practice invites presence\, courage\, and a willingness to engage with the body’s wisdom. Unlike traditional talk-based approaches\, Constellations focus on experience — using movement and representation rather than intellectual analysis. \nWhat to Expect at the Workshop\n6:00 – 9:00/9:30pm\n\nOpening circle\, short meditation\, and check-in\nA group exercise & brief teaching to build safety\, trust and confidentiality\nTwo Constellations:\n1 guaranteed issue-holder place is available to book in advance. This is ideal if you know you want to bring a personal issue.\nThe second issue-holder is chosen by “the field”: names of those wishing to do a constellation will go into a bowl\, and one will be drawn on the night.\nClosing sharing circle\n\nYou do not need to bring an issue to attend. As a Representative\, you may be asked to embody a family member\, ancestor\, or even an archetype such as Love or Nature. Many people find that their most profound shifts come through representing for others. You may also attend simply as a Witness\, holding the space and receiving insights for yourself. \nFamily Constellations Can Support You In:\n\nUnravelling family and relationship challenges\nIdentifying repetitive patterns in career or business\nManaging stress\, anxiety\, or health concerns\nAddressing financial limitations and abundance blocks\nGaining clarity on life direction and purpose\nReleasing inherited emotional burdens\n\n\nKatie’s Approach\nI offer Family Constellations in a grounded\, practical way\, shaped by both professional training and real-life experience. I’ve completed all core and advanced training with the Centre for Systemic Constellations (CSC)\, including specialist training in Couples & Intimate Relationship Systems. \nWith a Psychology degree\, a corporate background as a London headhunter\, and over a decade in wellbeing as a Senior Yoga Teacher amd Coach\, I bridge both professional and holistic worlds. Personally\, I come from a large blended family\, am a mother and stepmother\, and have lived the complexities of inter-racial marriage and divorce. These experiences help me meet others with empathy and understanding. \nMy approach is direct\, supportive\, and down-to-earth. I create a safe space where transformation can unfold naturally — whether you are bringing an issue\, representing\, or witnessing. \nPractical Details\n\nNo experience needed — just wear comfy clothes you can move in.\nDrinks & snacks provided.\nConcessions available: please contact me if affordability is an issue.\n\n📺 Curious? Watch a constellation in Netflix’s Another Self or on Goop’s YouTube Channel. \nOur Members get access to discounted prices to this event. \nAccessibility Information: \n\nUnfortunately this venue isn’t fully accessible due to two steps leading up to the hall.
