As iAM13e (pronounced “I AM BE”), my work sits at the intersection of creativity, wellbeing, and community healing. For International Men’s Day, I’m celebrating the men who choose courage over silence, expression over suppression, and brotherhood over isolation. My mission is to support men to reconnect with their voice, their purpose, and their emotional truth — using creativity as the gateway.

Over the past 7+ years I’ve had the honour of working with global and UK-based men’s communities including The Mankind ProjectEmergent MenSacred SonsMen’s Nation, Unknown Element, and other circles dedicated to healthy masculinity and emotional resilience. Whether I’m facilitating men’s groups, delivering workshops, or holding space through poetry and performance, my focus is consistent: helping men feel seen, heard, and empowered to rewrite their own narrative.

Today, men everywhere are navigating pressure — to be strong, successful, stoic, perfect. But what I continue to witness is this: when men have spaces where they can speak openly, breathe deeply, create freely, and connect authentically, their whole life transforms. They become better fathers, uncles, partners, sons, leaders, and creators. They rediscover joy. They remember who they really are beneath the armour.

This month, I’m encouraging men in Bristol and beyond to take one step into connection — whether that looks like joining a circle, reaching out to a brother, booking a self care session, or picking up the pen to express something real. Creative expression is medicine. Community is medicine. Vulnerability is strength.

I’m grateful to Diverse Arts Network for shining light on the men in our city doing the inner work, the creative work, and the community work. Together we can build cultures where men are encouraged to rise — not alone, but alongside one another.
