Our Agency is Under Development — But the Work Has Already Begun
After speaking with over 90 artists across four consultation sessions, one message came through loud and clear: the city’s arts scene was missing a dedicated advocacy platform. Many artists told us they weren’t getting the support they needed from booking agents — especially when it came to fair contracts, getting paid on time, and navigating the system without a manager or assistant. This gap was felt even more deeply by artists from refugee and low-income backgrounds.
In response, the Diverse Artists Network stepped up. In spring 2023, we launched a new artist-led agency and advocacy service — designed to support artists with integrity, transparency, and care.
This year, we’re proud to be increasing the number of artists we represent to 20, supporting their bookings and promotion.
