Kiota Open Mic

A unique evening of performances by the Kiota Community! We invite those from the Global Majority with poems, songs, stories or other forms of artistry to sign up for our open mic night

People from the Global Majority, who may or may not identify as Artists, are invited to come and share their poems, songs, movement, theatre pieces etc in the supportive cosy nest of the Kiota community.

Hosted by Kiota’s Artistic Director, Aisha Ali (they/them) the space is not only for sharing work in all stages of creation, but to meet others and grow this wonderful community.

Expect a rich experience of different art-forms and audience interaction.

Accessibility Information:

• Building entrance: While the main entrance has a step, an alternative step-free entrance is available via a side alley to the left of the main door. A doorbell is available at the side door to alert staff.
• Auditorium: There are two designated wheelchair spaces located on the back row of the theatre, which can be reserved during the online booking process.
• Seating: Seating is unreserved, but you can specify access requirements during booking to reserve a particular seat. The seating was recently updated in August 2025 to be more padded and larger.
• Assistance: The theatre staff are known for being friendly and helpful with access needs.
