Experience the vibrant rhythms of the Sudanese Daluka, a drum that is central to women’s celebrations. This session showcases Aghani Abanat (girls’ songs), an important part of wedding rituals in Sudan.

Join this interactive circle of drumming, clapping and movement to experience the rhythmic heart of Sudanese female heritage. No experience needed, just come ready to feel the rhythm.

ABOUT SUDAFEST CIC

Sudafest CIC is a Sudanese-led community arts organisation, working primarily with the Sudanese diaspora in the South West of England. Through workshops, festivals and creative programmes, they create spaces where culture, storytelling and artistic expression support connection, wellbeing and belonging. Over the past seven years, Sudafest have delivered weekly workshops, youth theatre, exhibitions and the annual Sudafest festival. They also lead the Bath Refugee Festival, bringing together diverse refugee communities to celebrate culture, foster dialogue and build stronger connections across the city.
