What is the Words 4 Change poetry competition?
The Diverse Artists Network, in partnership with Curiosity UnLtd, brings you Words 4 Change – a poetry competition that honours some local and international heroes.
Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr’s famous speech, I Have a Dream, the Bristol Bus Boycott, and the Race Relations Act 1965, you’re invited to write an original piece about your dreams.
What are your hopes and aspirations for a world in which we all feel safe and valued
How do I enter?
- To enter the Words 4 Change poetry competition, email your original poem to hello@diverseartistsnetwork.com by no later than midnight on 12 September 2025.
- You must live in the UK and your poem must not exceed 30 lines.
- Be sure to include your age and the words I Have a Dream in the email subject heading.
- Read the full competition terms and conditions.
What do I win?
The competition has three age categories
- 0-11
- 12-17
- 18+
Three winners from each category will be selected.
- The first prize for each category will be a small cash award.
- The second prize for each category will be a book token and free event tickets.
- The third prize for each category will be a book token.
- All winning entrants will have the opportunity to perform their work live.
When will I know if I’ve won?
