The Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial records, contribute to the development of company budgets, and provide broader financial support. This part-time role requires a self-starter with excellent attention to detail, strong financial acumen, time management skills, and a willingness to contribute to various organisational tasks. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth financial efficiency of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing basic bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Generating and processing invoices for clients and members.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Able to effectively manage companies payroll and pensions
- Utilising QuickBooks to manage financial transactions and generate reports.
- Assisting in the development and setting of the company’s annual budget.
- Monitoring budget performance and providing regular reports to colleagues, including the CEO, Manager, and Board members.
- Creating project budgets and monitoring financial progress against these budgets.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations in the UK.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in basic bookkeeping.
- Competent in using QuickBooks accounting software.
- Strong understanding of invoicing procedures.
- Experience in creating and monitoring project budgets.
- Experience contributing to and setting overall company budgets.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional bookkeeping accreditation relevant to the UK (e.g., AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping or equivalent).
Essential Qualities:
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to work and a willingness to support various tasks.
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
