What people have to say
Workshop ParticipantThe workshops led by Sayambrita have provided me with an insight into the creativity and diversity of folk art across the different regions of India.
The images are full of colour and life that portray the environment, nature, traditions and religions within their communities. The artwork often makes use of natural raw materials, fabrics, natural dyes, paper and other media and this gives the art a depth and texture that has a unique vibrancy and richness. I also find the simplicity of some techniques such as the lines and dot pictures quite absorbing as the emerging images become so strong and colourful. Exploring Indian Folk Art with Sayambrita has been and will continue to be a significant artistic journey that I will enjoy travelling and sharing with others.
