Live Bristol is a monthly mixed-genre music platform dedicated to uplifting emerging artists and strengthening the grassroots scene. Rooted in equality and representation, each event creates a space for diverse voices to be heard through the shared power of live performance.

This session is a special for DIASPORA! We are bringing our community together to amplify grassroots talent and celebrate the rich cultural heritage within our city. Join us for a showcase built on connection and inclusion, providing a pathway for artists to develop their craft and for audiences to discover the vibrant sounds and stories of the diaspora.

Featuring performance poet, Doreen Baidoo, comedians Michelle Meredith and Julius Abraham, spoken word artist and MC, iAM13E, multidisciplinary artist, Trees with Roots, and many more. No need to book, just show up.

Age: all ages (and dogs) welcome until 9pm

ABOUT DOREEN
Conceived in Jamaica, raised in London and shaped by time in Ghana, Corsica and Bristol, Doreen Baidoo has always written poetry. She began sharing her work in her mid-40s after joining The Bristol Black Writers Group.

ABOUT MICHELLE
Michelle Meredith is a comedian whose material draws on her Seychellois identity, essential oils and the trials and tribulations of everyday life. Her comedy is rooted in real experience and delivered without offensive language.

ABOUT JULIUS
Julius Abraham is an animated, misdirectional stand-up comic with a love of puns, repetitive jokes and acting out sketches on stage. His set draws on his heritage, upbringing and life.

ABOUT iAM13E
iAM13E is a spoken word artist, MC and somatic wellbeing practitioner working at the intersection of creative expression, nervous system regulation and embodied performance.

ABOUT TREES WITH ROOTS
Trees with Roots is a multidisciplinary artist whose work weaves together poetry, rap, music and theatre. Using a Boss RC-505 loop station, he creates vocal patterns and soundscapes that invite audiences into an intimate, healing exchange.
