Raising the Red: Red Dress Day Craft Workshop

Tue 5 May at 12:00 pm2:00 pm BST
Free

Join us for a meaningful and creative afternoon as we come together to mark Red Dress Day, honouring Indigenous women in Canada who are missing or murdered through violence.

This free, informal pop-up workshop is an opportunity to slow down, reflect and connect through making. You’ll be invited to decorate and message second-hand red dresses, contributing to Raising the Red, a collective outdoor installation across Totterdown.

During the session, you can take your time to create, learn more about the stories behind Red Dress Day, and be part of a shared act of remembrance and solidarity. All materials are provided, and no previous experience is needed, just come as you are.

Completed dresses will be hung in trees locally until 7pm, creating a visible and powerful tribute across the area. Donations of second-hand red dresses are very welcome. You’re also invited to bring something to share for lunch.
