Create Music with Your Voice: Vocal Workshop with AUGUST

Led by Bristol-based composer, producer, and educator AUGUST, this 2-hour workshop explores the creative possibilities of the human voice. Using frameworks developed through her pioneering work with experimental vocal ensembles, including the Bass Choir approach to bass-driven choral innovation, AUGUST will guide participants through improvisation, vocal experimentation, and arrangement techniques rooted in bass music styles.
Learners will collaboratively build and perform a short piece, discovering how the voice can function as both melody and texture in contemporary bass music. By the end of the session, participants will gain practical skills, creative confidence and a deeper understanding of how to use their voice as a tool for musical expression, composition and experimental performance.
Open to all – no prior singing experience required. This is a unique chance to access methods and exercises previously experienced only by members of AUGUST’s experimental vocal ensembles.
