Zine Making Workshop with Mereida Fajardo

Join artist in residence at Knowle West Media Centre, Mereida Fajardo, for this hands-on creative workshop for beginners to learn how to make zines. Mereida will also give an introduction to her work and bring along examples of her comics and zines to look at. They’ll be a brief history of zine making and how they’ve been used and created to share important information and ideas alongside social justice movements.

ABOUT MEREIDA

Mereida is a comic and zine-maker and illustrator based in Bristol. She is interested in exploring the possibilities of the comics language, and loves playing with form, format and storytelling methods that are unique to the medium, finding new ways to communicate and tell stories. She combines this with experimentation with the book and zine format, paper folding and the physical reading experience, drawing inspiration from real-life stories, history, landscapes and technology.
